Fearless Fitness – THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!

What an inspirational day! Saturday, March 5th more than 400 Cycle San Francisco participants and supporters joined together to ride to raise money for rare cancer research. In yesterday’s event we were able to raise a total of $200,000.000 for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

“In these days of diminished grant funding, Cycle for Survival overcomes the significant hurdles we face to speed funding directly to the most promising new research projects, so real progress happens much faster. This is a very smart way to have an immediate impact on cancer care.”

Chief, Melanoma and Sarcoma Service

How Your Support Helped

Cycle for Survival funds are allocated to the most promising research and clinical trials at MSK within six months of each event, dramatically reducing the time it takes for donations to become research discoveries – and then better treatments for cancer patients. This acceleration can make a crucial difference for patients battling rare cancers. What’s more, early support for promising new projects makes them eligible for much larger grants from government agencies and other sources, which means that each dollar provided by cycle can bring forth literally ten times that amount – and sometimes more. Find out more about Cycle-funded research here.

Yesterday we celebrated an extraordinary feat: Cycle for Survival 2011 has raised over $4.5 million for rare cancer research. Congratulations! We could not have reached this milestone without you.

As we celebrate, let’s remember what inspired us to cycle — the lifesaving research and treatment that bring new hope to rare cancer patients.

I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done to support me and help make Cycle for Survival such a resounding success! Yesterday I won the award as the individual who gained the most donations from separate sources. On my own, I was able to raise $1100.00 thanks to YOUR HELP. Teaching at Cycle for Survival was an hour I will ALWAYS remember. Such an inspirational day and a beautiful charity! Wanted to share some photos from the event as well as the playlist I used to teach to ALL the cycle for Survival participants. Check back on the blog next week for another Fearless Fitness Challenge that will rock. For now – enjoy the playlist and THANK YOU AGAIN for all of your help!!!
